What is the difference between Bamboobies and other washable, reusable breast pads?  

Bamboobies are less visible, more eco, more cost-effective and cuter than other nursing pads on the market today.  The bamboo is the softest on tender nursing nipples, soothing and wicking away moisture.  

  *When cotton pads leak though, regular Bamboobies milk-proof backing prevents leaks!

  *When cotton pads feel cold and clammy when wet, bamboo doesn't.  

  *Where cotton pads are more bulky and visible through clothing, Bamboobies aren't.

Do Bamboobies show through shirts as much as other nursing pads?

Bamboobies are made with super-absorbent fabrics and with fine stitching on the edges to prevent visibility through shirts.  They're not invisible but they're much less obvious than other washable nursing pads.  See the link above for a picture of Bamboobies and Medela breast pads in a bra and thin white t-shirt.  Bamboobies don't show!  

Do Bamboobies cost more than other nursing pads?  

Bamboobies actually cost less than disposable pads over the typical length of time that a nursing mother needs to use breast pads - actually only about 1/10th of the cost of disposables!

 

What is the difference between Regular and Overnight Bamboobies?

             Regular Bamboobies are heart-shaped and ultra-thin with a milk-proof backing. They are less visible under clothing and are ideal for when your milk supply is regulated.

           Overnight Bamboobies are super-soft and ultra-thick.  They are ideal for the early days of newborn nursing and for heavy leakers.  And they are also bigger than other washable pads so they keep you covered while you sleep.

  

How do I know what type and how many I will need?

             Every breastfeeding experience is unique and therefore everyone’s nursing pad needs will be different.  A good place to start is figuring you will need approximately 2 pairs during the day and 1-2 pairs during the night.  So… how many Bamboobies you order depends on how frequently you plan to do laundry!

  If you are still pregnant or giving a gift, the multi-pack or variety gift box is a great way to try some of each type.

  

I like the Butterfly Wrap but don't know what size to order... How do I figure that out?

The Butterfly Wrap is very flexible and stretchy and isn't form-fitting so we generally recommend women that are size 2-8 order a Small/Medium and women size 8-14 order a Medium/Large.  If you're taller than 5'8", you may want to order the larger size.  If you're only using the wrap as a nursing cover and not when you're pregnant, remember that breastfeeding will help you get back to your standard size in no time and you're going to look great in the wrap because it's not form-fitting.

When will my order be shipped?  Your order will ship out within 2 business days.

Can I send Bamboobies or The Butterfly Wrap as a gift?

             Absolutely!  When placing your order just send us a note in the special instructions field that it is a gift.  We will leave out the invoice and even include a note if you let us know what to write.

 Do you ship internationally?

             Currently, our site only processes shipping for the United States and Canada.  If you live somewhere else, just send an email to hello@buybamboobies.com and we will be happy to process the order for you. 

 If I have a coupon code, where do I enter it to get my discount?

             When checking out, you will see a section marked “COUPONS” after you submit your billing and shipping information.  Enter the code here and then click on “APPLY COUPON” button below and it will calculate your discount.  You can do this before you enter your credit card information.

Washing Instructions and Fabric Contents

How do I care for my Bamboobies?

             Machine or hand wash your Bamboobies in warm water. You can use regular detergent, but no fabric softener.  Dry your Bamboobies on low heat in the dryer.  Regular Bamboobies do not do well air-dried as they will not be nearly as soft as if machine-dried. 

       Ideally, Overnight Bamboobies are still a bit damp when they come out of the dryer - just lay them flat to finish drying.  Removing Overnights from the dryer promptly allows you to stretch and lay them flat – if left too long and completely dry, they can become balled up. Simply wash again and catch them pronto next time to make them flatter again.

The Overnights are leaving lint on my nipples, is this normal?

     The fuzz on the Overnights is an unfortunate byproduct of the super soft 100% bamboo fleece that we use.  The lint will diminish after a few washings.  (We do pre-wash the fabric twice before making our Overnight Bamboobies but they do continue to shed lint for a few more wash cycles.)

What are the specific fabric contents in Bamboobies?  

             Regulars:

1.      Bamboo velour: 70% bamboo rayon, 28% OCIA certified organic cotton, 2% polyester

2.      55% hemp, 45% GOTS certified organic cotton

3.      Polyester with urethane waterproofing

  Overnights:

Outer Layers: 100% bamboo rayon – fiber certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100

Inner Layer: 100% GOTS certified organic cotton
