7 Simple Tips to Make Virtual Baby Showers Special

7 Simple Tips to Make Virtual Baby Showers Special

At Bamboobies, we know how exciting it is to prepare for baby’s arrival—from parenting education to nursery decorating, and gift registration to baby showers. While showers look different during a global pandemic, there are still so many ways to make sure mama and baby are celebrated! Check out these 7 simple ways to help make virtual baby showers more special!

  1. Send Fresh Flowers

Send mama her favorite arrangement from a local florist to brighten her space. Be sure to schedule the delivery for a few hours before the shower begins so that she can find the right place for them.

  1. Curate a Baby-Themed Playlist

Use a service like Apple Music or Spotify to curate a playlist with songs about parenthood and mentions of ‘baby’. Encourage mama to play it while she is getting ready or when the virtual shower begins.

  1. Create a Fun Backdrop

This idea is super easy and has a big impact! And, you can approach it multiple ways—digitally or physically. ZOOM offers the ability to load images to replace your physical background on screen. Or, if you think it’s more mama’s style to set up a traditional step-and-repeat backdrop, ship her something she can easily pin up on a blank wall (along with the pins/tape/3M hooks that should be used to temporarily hang the backdrop). Tip: Fabric shower curtains with fun prints + 3M hooks work super well for this because you can hang the curtain up using the holes intended for the shower curtain clips.

  1. Adorn Her with a Sash

Adorn her with a ‘mama to be’ sash. This is yet another way to make her feel special and like the guest of honor. If you’re not the DIY type, place an order and support a mom-owned small business on Etsy.

  1. Organize a Short, Simple Group Game

Facilitate a group game. And, yes, ‘short’ and ‘simple’ are very important parts of planning a fun group game (especially in a virtual setting)! We recommend a fill-in-the-blank quiz/trivia questionnaire. There are so many free printable templates online, like ‘how long is each animal pregnant?’, ‘name that baby song’, or ‘would she rather: who knows mommy best?’ quizzes. Just be sure to send worksheets to guests in advance!

     6. Shower Her with Gifts, of Course

We recommend a few of our best-selling and mom-loved favorites—washable nursing pads, drink mixes for morning sickness relief, lactation support, and post-partum energy, stretch mark + scar balm, and assorted apparel for bump, breastfeeding, and beyond!

  1. Send Pre-Addressed Thank You Cards

Help mama out with pre-stamped and pre-addressed thank you card envelopes. It’s one less thing for her to think about and the thoughtfulness behind it will be appreciated.
